Into the Woods Farm

My Nubians

I chose Nubians for my farm because of two things. One is that their milk has some of the highest butterfat content of any of the dairy breeds, which makes my soaps and  lotions richer and creamier, but it is also (In my opinion, anyway) some of the best tasting milk. Reason number two is they are CUTE! Wait until you see the ears on these darlings! :)
My family and I drink goat milk every day, and I DO NOT pasteurize, we drink it RAW! Raw milk is one of the healthiest foods you can find. It is not at all unsafe or unsanitary, with proper sanitation of milking buckets, storage jars and the like, you are far less likely to get sick from raw milk than from store-bought milk. My children drink raw goat milk every day, and they are some of the healthiest kids in school.
My little herd are all pets, they all come when I call and come up and beg for back scratches.

This is my new Nigerian Dwarf buck, Playrite Afra's Legacy. I am really excited to have him, and I can't wait until his babies begin to arrive in the spring!
